Himanta Biswa Sarma failed to tackle pollution issues in Guwahati, claims Congress leader Debabrata Saikia

Debabrata Saikia, the opposition leader, raised concerns regarding Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's governance, citing instances of corruption and negligence.

In a conversation with India Today NE, Saikia brought attention to numerous scams and government failures, aligning with Rahul Gandhi's description of the CM as the most corrupt in Assam.

He underscored the urgent need to address escalating pollution levels in Guwahati, proposing a construction ban until conditions improve. Saikia voiced concern over the reported 100% increase in pollution levels in Guwahati in the past year, warning of the serious health risks and societal impact.

Beyond environmental issues, Saikia criticised the government's inaction on unemployment, farmers' land rights, and its dismissal of the Assam Accord.

He pledged to persistently highlight these issues to the people of Assam, raising awareness about the alleged corruption and anti-Assamese activities within the ruling party.
