United States of America (USA) With the biggest defence budget in the world, the USA has the strongest military. The United States Air Force (USAF) is the most powerful Air Force on the planet. It is also the most number of 5th generation fighter planes in the world. The US also has the biggest navy on the planet with the most number of Aircraft carriers.

Russia Russia ranked 2 in the top 10 powerful countries in the world by Military 2023. Russia has inherited a lot of military technology from the Soviet Union and apart from this, Russia is full of natural resources due to its huge size. There are around 1,014,000 active military personnel while there are 2,000,000 reserve personnel.

China With the most populous country in the world, China has the largest military in terms of Manpower. Apart from this, China is also working rapidly to modernise its military. There are nearly 2,185,000 active military personnel in the world while there are 510,000 reserve personnel.

India After China, India is set to become the most populous country on the earth within a few years. So going by this, the country has no shortage of available manpower. India is gradually expanding its military budget due to the presence of hostile neighbours on its eastern and western borders. India ranks 4th in the top 10 military powers in the world 2023. A total of 1,445,000 active military personnel are always ready to take on an enemy to safeguard their nations. There are around 1,155,000 reserve personnel.

Japan The armed forces of Japan are also counted among the top militaries in Asia and the world. Due to its close alliance with the United States and good military technology, the military of Japan is modern. There are around 250,000 active military personnel while there are 55,000 reserve personnel.

South Korea South Korea has modern and well-equipped armed forces. However, the size of the military is not too big, the weapons system and technologies used by their navy, airforce, and army are state-of-the-art. The country has around 600,000 active military personnel and around 3,100,000 reserve personnel.

France When it comes to Europe, with 270,000 active military personnel, France has the most powerful military. Being a NATO member, it gets a lot of military technology from friendly countries. France is one of the major defence exporters as well. At present, the country is selling Rafale Aircraft to countries like Egypt, India etc.

United Kingdom After France, British Armed Forces is the second-largest army in the European Union. Just like France, the UK is also a NATO member. Currently, it ranks 8th among the most powerful militaries in the world with 275,000 active military personnel.

Brazil The country has most powerful military in South America and it is operating some of the advanced weapons like SAAB Gripen. Besides this, the country has the largest military budget in the continent of South America. The country has around 334,500 active military personnel while reserve personnel are around 1,340,000.

Pakistan With 654,000 active military personnel, Pakistan is also in the top 10 strongest military in the world. The country is maintaining a strong military with the support of China and other countries. There are around 550,000 reserve personnel in the Pakistani Army with a good number of arms and ammunition.
