A deeply concerning breach of privacy and security has come to light after a Class 12 student was caught allegedly hacking into a CCTV system to monitor his girlfriend’s private activities.
The girl resides in a residential flat in Sribhumi. According to reports, the teenager managed to connect the flat’s CCTV camera feed to his mobile phone, enabling constant surveillance without the knowledge of the occupants.
Suspicion arose on Saturday, November 29 morning when residents noticed the boy repeatedly loitering near the building. Upon questioning him, locals examined his phone and discovered that the live CCTV footage from inside the flat was streaming directly on his device.
The residents immediately apprehended the minor and alerted the police. The incident has triggered widespread concern over cyber intrusions and the misuse of surveillance technology, especially when involving minors.
Authorities are now investigating how the student accessed the CCTV system and whether more individuals were affected. The incident has reignited discussions over digital safety, particularly in residential apartments.
