The Nagaon district administration has launched a large-scale eviction drive in Kampur to reclaim government land allegedly under illegal occupation.
The operation, which commenced on Saturday, November 29 is being carried out in the areas of Kandapar, Chamkhola, and Lutumari.
According to official sources, the initiative aims to free a total of 5,962 bighas of encroached land. Security personnel and administrative teams have been deployed to ensure smooth execution of the drive.
Authorities confirmed that the eviction process is progressing peacefully, with no major resistance reported so far. The administration stated that the recovered land will be utilized for developmental and public welfare purposes in the future.
The drive forms part of the district’s broader effort to prevent unlawful land occupation and restore government-owned property to its intended use.
