A 72-hour bandh is being observed in Pangin area of Siang district in Arunachal Pradesh since Monday. The bandh has been called by 52 gaon buras (GBs) of Pangin and Kebang circles opposing the State government’s proposed Bill for reorganisation of districts, in which Boleng has been proposed as headquarter of Siang district.
The GBs also submitted their resignation before the Additional Deputy Commissioner on Monday.
The village headmen have threatened to call an indefinite bandh from 30th August, if their demand to scrap the proposed Bill was not accepted.
