Its high time politicians of Assam take a note from Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma’s persistent approach towards his rock solid stand against the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

In a meeting of National People’s Party (NPP) meeting in Arunachal Pradesh, CM Sangma once again made it clear on their stand against the Bill and said that as MLAs and representatives from all the states of Northeast, they strongly oppose the Bill and at no cost will let it be implemented in their respective states.
Answering to media persons, Sangma said, “Almost six months back when JPC had come in to Shillong, we took a resolution in their presence that we are not in favour of this bill and will not support this Bill. The government has taken the decision and the resolution has been passed in the Cabinet. Today the government has not tabled this Bill in the Rajya Sabha.”
He added, “We are very clear that we are against this Bill”.
