Sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted a raid at the residences of former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Ministers Gegong Apang and Nabam Tuki.
According to reports, the raids were conducted on Wednesday. The reports said the raid at Apang’s house was in connection with the alleged Rs.1000-crore public distribution system (PDS) scam. The reports attributed the raid at Tuki’s house to the Doimukh-Sagalee PWD road scam during 2007-2008 when he was the PWD Minister.
Earlier, Chief Minister Pema Khandu urged the CBI to reinvestigate the PDS scam. Several big names, including that of Takam Pario, Likha Saaya, Lokam Tassar and Kahfa Bengia, had got entangled to it.
Meanwhile, reacting to the raids, opposition Congress demanded that it should be a free and fair investigation. The Congress also said that only the Congress leaders should not be targeted.
