Keyi Panyor theatre troupe draws major attention at Arunachal Rang Mahotsav
A Hindi–Nyishi stage production titled Money Money Money: Brighter than Sunshine, Sweeter than Honey emerged as one of the most talked-about performances at the ongoing Arunachal Rang Mahotsav 2025, earning strong audience engagement and critical praise.
Backed by Yachuli MLA Toko Tatung as a cultural initiative for Keyi Panyor district, the play tackled the expanding grip of “money culture” on everyday life. Director and theatre educator Rilli Ngomle led a cast of local artistes through a narrative that scrutinised how the pursuit of wealth influences personal bonds, decision-making and the moral fabric of communities.
The production stood out for its interactive format, encouraging spectators to respond and take part in several moments on stage. The approach blended traditional storytelling with modern performance techniques, shifting the experience from passive viewing to active dialogue.
The Arunachal Rang Mahotsav, known for spotlighting regionally rooted and socially aware work, reinforced that identity again this year with shows such as Money Money Money. Veteran actor Seema Biswas, speaking to India Today NE, praised the performance for “holding up a mirror to society” and commended the team’s commitment to meaningful theatre.
