An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale struck Diphu in Upper Assam on Wednesday. The tremors were felt at at 6:40 pm, and the impact could also be felt in neighboring Northeastern States, including Nagaland.

The quake took place at a depth of 46.2 km, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGC).
No casualty has been reported so far.
