Amid the tensions prevailing in the state of Assam which is witnessing massive protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, a video has surfaced on social media which shows a member of the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) offering 'chana' (gram) to Armed Forces, who were deployed to maintain peace in the area.
The video footage was reportedly captured at a protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act somewhere in Assam, which is yet to be specified.

The video has been shared on Facebook by a user Bharali Chandan along with the caption: "সকলো যুদ্ধৰ জয় মানৱতাৰেই হয়"__ সদৌ অসম ছাত্ৰ সন্থাই নিবিচাৰে অন্যায়, নিবিচাৰে হিংসা। জয় আই অসম" (Humanity wins all wars, AASU does not want any injustice, or any violence. Glory to mother Assam).
In the video, the youth wearing a white bandana with the AASU logo inscribed on it was seen holding a steel bucket full of soaked grams and offering it to the armed forces deployed in the area. The Armed Force personnel were seen consuming the gram and thanking the guy.

It is a clear indication that the people protesting against the C(A)A in the state of Assam do not support violence. However, as many as 5 lives were lost in Assam after security personnel opened fire on the agitators.
Earlier, Delhi’s protesting students were seen offering roses to the police personnel with the slogan “Delhi Police Baat Karo, Aao Humare Sath Chalo”, a day after clashes at the Jamia Millia Islamia University that broke out between the students and armed forces.
