The All Assam Students' Union (AASU), in continuance of the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act, organized a rong-tulika-kobitare protibad (protests with paintings-sculptures-poems) at the historic Latashil playground in Guwahati on Wednesday.
Many artists from all over the state congregated at the field to express their opposition to the CAA in new and unique ways. The artist community, through the medium of art, expressed their distaste for the CAA, that has sparked nationwide protests.

Addressing mediapersons, the AASU leader Samujjal Bhattacharya, said: "The Government's promises have been kickstarted by the massive and widespread protests against the CAA -- the announcement of 55,000 jobs, Rs 50,000 for 2,000 artistes, the promise to meet the demands of the indigenous communities, many Universities, new districts -- there is more to come."
The anti-CAA movement has shaken the world, they have realized that they should appease the people. We should continue the protests so that the people get what they deserve". However, Bhattacharya stated that the people would not accept the CAA at any cost: "The people are saying that they will accept what they deserve, but they would not accept the CAA."
Lurinjyoti Gogoi, the General Secretary of AASU, stated that the Government is ever losing the support of the tea tribes, who are now joining the protests against the CAA: "Tea tribes, who are being treated as a vote bank, have joined the protests. Their aspirations have remained largely unfulfilled." Gogoi further added that they might lose their land if foreigners gain citizenship under the CAA.
