Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived today for Assam’s first Global Investors Meet for the motive of rekindling historical and cultural connection of North Eastern States with South East Asian Countries. In the summit the presence of Bhutan’s prime minister Lyonpo Tshering Tobgay have been seen. With them many leading business tycoon like Mukesh Ambani and many were being present in the big event. The main focus of the summit were in the manufacturing opportunities in geo strategic advantages to foreign and domestic investors. It also focused on the development and empowering growth of the IT, Technology, Hospitality and many more sectors of Assam. The petroleum, natural gas, and civil aviation section will also be given importance. A total number of 16 leading countries participated in this global investors summit of Assam. Some of the countries are Vietnam, Netherland, Vietnam, USA , UAE, Japan, Israel, etc.
In the inaugural speech of Narendra Modi at Advantage Assam many local investors felt that he did not mentioned anything big for them in which they can be benefited as they were expecting the new industrial policy for Assam and North East will be announced. He rather mentioned about the aim of doubling farmer’s income and the farmer friendly new India budget. After his inaugural speech many felt that his was just bragging about the about the develoment which the BJP Governement carried out till date under the leadership of Modi. Narendra Modi in his speech lastly added by saying transformation by transportation has been given importance in making new Assam.
Top leading business tycoon and the Chairman and Managing Director of reliance industries Mukesh Ambani announced an investment of 2,500 crore in various sectors of Assam. Further he added on saying that “Every state in india is competing for the growth. Today in Guwahati from river Savarmati to river Brahmaputra the vast growth of transformation can be seen.” Further he concluded on saying that “Digital India Misision is to digitalize the country and Jio is firmly committed to make Assam digitalize.
Ambani made a commitment for Assam over the next three years where Reliance will invest an additional Rs 2,500 crore to augment its presence in the market. The company will also enhance its retail division’s outlet to 40 from existing two. He also promised to open new offices in all 145 tehsil headquarters across Assam and also to generate 20,000 jobs in Assam.
While in the tourism sector, the company’s CSR wing Reliance Foundation will partner with Assam government to set up a centre at an university to promote “wildlife protection and eco-tourism”. And in football, where ISL became a huge success in Assam. Ambani decided to establish a top class football academy in collaboration with Government of Assam to produce quality players from the state.
