Margherita, August 29, 2019:

The Asom Jatiyotabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) Margherita, Digboi and Pengree-Bordumsa Regional Committee on Thursday staged 3 hours sit-in protest at North Margherita Rangamancha against the dilapidated condition of National Highway 38 road of Tinsukia, Digboi, Margherita, Baragolai, Ledo, PengreeBordumsa and all the rural areas of Tinsukia District.

Over 100 protesting members of AJYCP staged the three hours sit- in demonstrate.

General Secretary (I/C) of AJYCP Tinsukia District committee, Kanchan Bora said, “National Highway 38 passing through Tinsukia district is in a dilapidated condition where pedestrian and commuters are suffering a lot causing traffic snarl at the roadside.”

“Many illegal vehicles carrying coal, stone, and sand at Tinsukia district have created big potholes on NH 38 road for which the road of NH 38 is in a dilapidated condition,” said Kanchan Bora.

“For the last many years NH 38 road of Tinsukia district has not been repaired where we demand to Chief Minister of Assam to immediately to repair the dilapidated condition NH 38 road of Tinsukia district otherwise in the coming days, strong agitational programme shall be conducted by AJYCP,” added Kanchan Bora.

A memorandum was submitted to Chief Minister of Assam through the Margherita SDO (Civil).
