Guwahati, July 30, 2019:

The Director of Social Welfare has demanded immediate termination of 50 Anganwadi helpers and workers for alleged illegal appointment into their posts.

In a letter issued by Director Juri Phukan to the Hailakandi Social Welfare Department officer, these 50 Anganwadi workers were appointed illegally in five different ICDS circles of Hailakandi district on January 1, 2016.

In the letter, it is further stated that Gauhati High Court in its order dated May 5, 2019has directed to take required steps for the payment of the honorium of Anganwadi helpers and workers if they are found to have rendered services.
