ASSAM: ANOTHER RAPE CASE JOLTS THE STATE

After a day of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal delivered at length about strengthening the security forces for the protection of women and introducing a stringent anti-rape law, another case of rape has come to the fore. A girl is reported to be brutally raped in a moving vehicle and then thrown away mercilessly in the Amolapatty area of Nagaon district of the state. The barbaric act was committed by one Moidul who is an auto rickshaw driver. The girl hails from Jagiroad was brought yesterday by the miscreant to Nagaon. The girl is reported to be duped by the miscreant in the pretext of engaging her in some work in a marriage ceremony.

This heinous crime  took place in a moving vehicle in broad daylight. The girl after being found in a pathetic condition has been sent by the police for medical examination.

The people of the region are sceptical of the working of the security forces. They expressed their dismay saying that they are hopeless about the carelessness of the government in tackling rising cases of crime against women.
