The troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force have rescued five people of border village Berakhawa who were capsized and submerged into the water in the midst of river Brahmaputra on Monday in the bordering area of Mahamaya Char under Dhubri district of Assam.
The BSF troops of Border Out Post (BOP) Mahamaya Char are deployed in Dhubri of Assam under BSF Guwahati Frontier and dominating the International border area.

The incident took place on Monday when five people including a minor were on a chappu boat coming from village Bamandanga to village Berakhawa under Dhubri district. Unfortunately, their boat capsized in the middle of the Brahmaputra and submerged into the water.
The Observation Post party of BOP Mahamaya Char witnessed the incident and BSF Jawans rush to the spot on a speed boat and rescued all the villagers.
The five villagers have been identified as Munaf Ali (55), Lalchand Ali (40), SonaMoham (12), Yaseen (8) and Alik Chand (45). All are residents of Berakhawa village.
