Guwahati, March 3, 2019:

An Assam Police Constable called Rafikul Islam, who hails from Assam’s Morigaon district, has been arrested and suspended for allegedly sharing ‘Pro-Pakistan’ post praising Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan on social networking site Facebook amid the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan after the Pulwama terrorist attack where 42 jawans were martyred.

The Constable, who was posted at Borsola outpost under Lahirighat police station in Morigaon district, was detained after he shared a ‘status’ praising Muslims and Imran Khan, originally by ‘RJ Razek Ali’, on Facebook. He has since been suspended. Islam could not be immediately reached for comment.

It is to be mentioned that a hunt is on to find the person who posted the original post.
