GUWAHATI: The dry run for the coronavirus vaccination will continue in the state of Assam until the actual vaccination drive begins, officials have confirmed.
As per National Health Mission (NHM) officials, the Health Department would carry on with the dry run and work on any anomalies found before administering the actual vaccine to the people of the state.
In Assam, the dry run is going on at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, Sonapur Civil Hospital and Khanapara State Dispensary today. According to officials, this is going to be a continuous process till the actual vaccine comes.

The stated objective of the run is to prepare the staff, upgrade the state machinery and improve the vaccine delivery infrastructure.
The dry run for COVID-19 vaccine in Assam began on December 28 in Nalbari and Sonitpur districts.
Meanwhile, a nationwide dry run of the vaccine has begun from Saturday.
In a related development, the Committee of Experts of the Central Pharmaceutical Standards Control Organization (CDSCO) of the Government of India on Friday approved the emergency use of Covishield, a vaccine for the Corana virus. The Oxford-based vaccine is being produced by the Serum Institute of India (SII) in India.
