Affected by the increasing flood in the state, over 30 cows have been stranded in the middle of the Puthimari river in Guwabari region of Baksa district from the last six days.
The rescue operations are being carried out however technical problems have turned out to be a major hindrance in the rescue operations.
The district administration along with the villagers is trying to rescue the stranded cows with the help of a fire and emergency service boat however the increasing current of the river has failed the operation.

The locals have informed that over 30 cows are stranded in the middle of the river and due to the continuous erosion in the region with the increasing flood, lots of problems has been faced to carry out the rescue operation. They also suspected that some of these cows have already flown away with the current of the river.
The sub-divisional Chief Officer, Sujit Baglari, Police Officer, Ranjan Kumar Das, and Tamulpur Circle Officer, Tonmoy Bora along with assistant Commissioner visited the site and took account on the matter.
The rescue operation will continue today.
