At a time when the ability of a student is judged by the amount of marks he/she procures in the exam, the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) has undertaken an initiative to encourage students of the region to perform well in exams.
The Karbi Anglong Anglong team led by Chief Executive Manager Tuliram Ronghangalong with many EMs and other senior-ranked officials organized a ceremony to facilitate all the students who shone brightly in the exams conducted by the SEBA board of Assam, the results of which were announced on 15 May, 2019. Moreover, the administration awarded each of the successful candidates who cleared the exam a cash sum of Rs. 50,000.

Ashika Das: 95.6% Don Bosco H.S School, Diphu;
Jiroy Phura: 94.2%, Donbosco HS Diphu;
Sania Singh: 93.33%, Badan Memorial High School, Diphu;
Bornadhya Gogoi: 93.05%, Bidya Sagar High School, Bokajan;
Jasmin Laskar: 93.02%, Mount Calvary School, Diphu;
Supriti Bora: 92.03%, Mount Calvary School, Diphu;
Roma Verva: 92%, Bidya Sagar High School, Bokajan;
Mrinoy Deka Baruah: 91.08%, Mount Calvary School, Diphu;
Tripti Paul: 91.05%, Mount Calvary School,
Diphu; Pranami Saikia: 90.05%, Sankardev Bidya Niketan, Howraghat;
Nituparna Bhattacharya-90.05%, Pranab Bidyapith High School, Bokajan;
Melim Singnarpi-90.05%, Donbosco HS Diphu;
Manabi Debnath -90%, Sankardev Bidya Niketan, Howraghat;
Mayur Jyoti Nath-90%, Sankardev Bidya Niketan, Howraghat;

In the 2019 HSLC exam held in Assam, Meghashree Borah from Sankardev Shishu Bidya Niketan, Narayanpur (Lakhimpur) topped the exam with 594 marks, while Chinmoy Hazarika from Don Bosco School, Bhakchung in Jorhat and Pratyasha Medhi from St. Mary’s Guwahati jointly secured the second position with 593 marks.
The total number of students who had appeared for the exams this year was 3,42,691. Out of those, 1,63,467 were male candidates, whereas 1,79,224 were females.
Among males, 24,918 secured the first division, 34,866 got second division, while 40,691 got the third division. In total, 1,00,475 (62.69% students) cleared the exam.
Among females, 23,681 students got first division, 36,154 students got the second division, while 42,198 female students secured the third division. 102,033 (57.99%) cleared the exam.
In total, 60.23% candidates cleared the exams this year in Assam.
