The meeting of all political parties and civil society organisations, organised by the Kokrajhar District Administration has agreed to stand together against any sort of problems during and after the final draft publication of NRC in the district.
The meeting which was held in the conference hall of the DC'S office, Kokrajhar was chaired by the Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Niranjan Baruah and attended by ADC Debeswar Bora, Addl. SP Kamal Kr. Gupta, senior citizens Dr. Mangalsing Hazowary, P.C. Jha, representatives from political and non political parties like BJP, Cong (I), BPF, CPM (I), UPP (L), Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Gorkha Sahitya Sanmelon, Bongo Sahitya Sabha, Marowary Yova Manch, ABSU, AASU, BSU, ABMSU, AAMSU, AKRSU, AGSU, ABBYSF, ABNYSU and AHBCP.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner Baruah informed the gathering about the present status of NRC updation process in the district and its preparedness for the final draft publication in June 30. He also answered every queries of the members present in connection with the NRC updation process and assured of giving any assistance to the public as per the guidelines of the government. As a district in-charge of the NRC, ADC Debeswar Bora called upon the people to cooperate with the District Administration for smooth and timely completion of the same. In his speech, Addl. SP Kamal Kr. Gupta also informed about the security arrangements from their side at NSKs and to tackle any untoward incidents during the final draft publication of NRC as well as for present crisis of Citizenship Amendment Bill in the district.
The house also assured of giving their help to the district administration and wished for peaceful completion of ongoing NRC updation process in the district without affecting the interest of the genuine citizens.
