Assam: Moran Student Union Committee stages protest in front of office of Margherita Circle officer

MARGHERITA: All Moran Student Union Central Committee in association with Digboi and Philobari Regional Committee today staged protest for 2 hours in front of the office of Margherita Circle officer in protest against three decades old inclusion in the list of schedule Tribes and implementation of Autonomous Council under 6th Schedule.

Members of All Moran Student Union shouted various slogans such as "No ST No rest", BJP Government Murdabad, BJP is liar Political party,Narendra Modi Murdabad, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma Murdabad, Our demand legal demand etc.

Hem Baruah, Vice President of All Moran Student Union of Central Committee said, “Moran Community of Assam has been raising for ST Status and implementation of Autonomous Council under 6th Schedule for more than 50 years but then also no Government both at the State and Union has ever fulfilled which we Moran Community of Assam are much offended and disappointed.”

He further said that Moran Community are Philanthropist and peace loving people of Assam which before the Assembly Election Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma assured that Moran Community of Assam shall be included in the list of Schedule Tribes which are only in lecture in reality BJP Government both at the State and Union is showing us lollipop only to get votes from us.

“We warned BJP Government both at the State and Union not to play dirty politics with philanthropist and peace loving Moran community of Assam we are aboriginal tribes (Bhoomi Putra) of Assam we know how to get our rights said Hem Baruah.

A memorandum was given to Chief Minister of Assam through Margherita Circle officer,” he further added.
