RTI activist Dulal Bora has been arrested by Hatigaon police on Saturday morning for allegedly blackmailing and extorting money from a Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI).

Dulal Bora was arrested based on an FIR filed by MVI Naimuddin Ahmed against him at the Hatigaon police station, on the charges of blackmail.
According to MVI Naimuddin Ahmed’s FIR, Bora had demanded a sum of Rs. 5 lakh from him.
Reportedly, Bora, in a letter to the Principal Secretary of the Transport Department, claimed that he has detected multiple cases of corruption against the MVI Kamrup (R) Naymuddin Ahmed.

However, Dulal Bora has categorically denied the charges.
