ASSAM: ULFA RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MARTYDOM OF THE JAWANS OF AR IN MON DISTRICT

The attack on the Jawans of the Assam Rifles on the Aboi area Of Mon district which martyred four jawans, leaving six in critical condition was made by ULFA(I) . The confirmation was made by ULFA(I) itself of their being responsible for the attack through a press release. They announced that it was a joint attack by NSCN and ULFA(I). Through the press release they also revealed that they had been camping in the dense forest of the Aboi area so as to launch an attack as soon as the jawan make their way to the river for water. They also mentioned that no sooner the jawans had arrived, they were attacked. The insurgents were successful to grab the weapons of the jawans too. However no information regarding this has been gained from the Assam Rifles till the time of filing this report.
