Members of the Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad, who had called a 12-hours bandh in Assam today, to protest against the exclusion of Hindus from the final draft of the National Register of Citizens (NRC), ran into a major hurdle: Zubeen Garg fans.
Members of the pro-Hindu groups had demanded that all the Hindu people excluded from the NRC be immediately included in the draft. The bandh supporters got into arguments with local businessmen, who did not want to support the bandh, and the members of the Dal lashed out by hurling expletives at them. All of this has been recorded on video.
Later, the bandh supporters ran across a legion of Zubeen fans who had gathered outside a local multiplex to watch the Assam heartthrob's latest flick, 'Kanchenjungha'. A clash erupted after a few supporters of the bandh tried to shut Fun Cinemas at Sohum Mall in Dibrugarh.

Zubeen’s Kanchanjangha, a widely-anticipated release, has been released today, and his supporters, who had thronged the local multiplex, were visibly irritated after the Bajrang Dal members tried to shut down the multiplex.
The verbal argument took an ugly turn and both the groups started abusing each other using unparliamentary lingo. Truly a bizarre state of affairs!
