BREAKING: Suspected militants gun down five near Dhola-Sadiya bridge

Guwahati, November 1, 2018:

At least five people, belonging to a particular community, were killed by suspected militants of the Paresh Baruah faction of United Liberation Front of Assam, better known as ULFA-Independent, near the Dhola-Sadiya bridge in Upper Assam on Thursday evening.

According to reports, the militants, who were in battle fatigues, swooped down on the Kherbari Bisonibari area and fired indiscriminately on a group of people playing ludo.

Four people were killed on the spot. The reports said the figure of casualties is likely to increase.

The deceased have been identified as Shyamlal Biswas, Ananta Biswas, Abhinash Biswas, Subal Biswas and Dhananjay Namsudra.
