Guwahati, September 9, 2019:

Bodoland Territorial Chief (BTC) Hagrama Mohilary on Monday highlighted the problem of insurgency in Assam during the 4th Conclave of the Northeast Democratic Alliance (NEDA).

He should that Assam has been plagued by insurgency since time immemorial. "We are trying to bring the militants into the mainstream", he said.

"I have even spoken to Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal about it. We need the Government's help to solve the NDFB problem, including the discussions with the pro-talks faction, NDFB (P)", he added. He also asked the Central Government to provide assistance so that the Bodo insurgents dwelling in the jungles can be brought back into the mainstream.

He further assured that the Bodo People's Front (BPF) party will be with the BJP party in the foreseeable future, and expressed faith that the party will win the upcoming Council elections in the BTC area.

Addressing the gathering, the BTC Chief added that in Delhi, the Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance will remain in power for twenty more years.

In the 2021 elections to be held in Assam, the BJP will again win the election. "Once again, Sarbananda Sonowal will be the Chief Minister, as there is no one else", he said.
