CM Sonowal will not let the people face any trouble: Pramila Rani Brahma

Guwahati, January 17, 2019:

State Social Welfare Minister Pramila Rani Brahma on Thursday said that they have no objection on approving Scheduled Tribe status to the six agitating indigenous communities of Assam.

The minister also stated that Chief Minister Sarabananda Sonowal has been given the title of Jatiya Nayak as people have faith in him and expressed confidence that he would not let the people of Assam face any troubles in the future.

It may be mentioned that the entire state is witnessing a situation of unrest following the announcement of the amendment of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016. People have been hoisting black flags across the entire Northeastern region in protest of the Bill. Colleges and universities have also announced boycott of classes for an indefinite people. BJP party leaders have also been prohibited from entering many places as a part of the ongoing protest.
