Elephant dies of electrocution in Dimow

Guwahati, November 16, 2018:

Another elephant died in Assam and this time it was reported from Dimow on Thursday.

Although the tusker died last night, the carcass was recovered on Friday. The carcass was found near a paddy field and it has been suspected that it died of electrocution after coming in contact with electric wires that farmers lay on their fields.

The forest officials are currently investigating the matter and have assured that strict actions will be taken against the persons responsible for the death of the elephant.
