Guwahati: Former President of Assam Sahitya Sabha Paramananda Rajbongshi will join Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) on Tuesday, October 10.
Rajbongshi will join the party at the AGP headquarter situated in Ambari in Guwahati.
Paramananda Rajbonshi served as the General Secretary of the apex literary body and was later elected as the President in the year 2017.
In 2014, he had triggered a controversy by contesting for the general secretary’s post despite being the vice-president, a post considered higher in the Sabha hierarchy.

The Assam Sahitya Sabha is a non Government, non-profit, literary organization of Assam. The Sabha was founded in December 1917 in Assam to promote the culture of Assam and Assamese literature.
In the year 2019, a branch of the organisation named Singapore Sahitya Sabha was launched in Singapore. Former DGP Kuladhar Saikia is the current President of the body.
