Kokrajhar’s sitting Lok Sabha MP Naba ‘Hira’ Sarania filed his nomination at the Kokrajhar DC office on Tuesday. The race for the no. 5 Kokrajhar Lok Sabha Constituency seat is headed for an exciting finish as apart from the sitting MP Sarania, other strong contenders like UPPL’s Urkhao Gwra Brahma and BPF’s Pramila Rani Brahma have also emerged.
On the way to file his nomination papers accomapanied by , the sitting Kokrajhar MP said: “The excitement and unity among the people is being seen. I think this will enable not only my victory but also bring peace to Kokrajhar. Not only non-Bodos, but all communities should have their rights. All people, including non-tribals should get their rights including Governmental safeguards, job opportunities, etc. I also hope the adivasis get ST status and I hope the Government hears their demand for Kamatapur. All issues such as d-voter, NRC should be sorted out. Moreover, the non-Bodo should get land rights. I think this election will be fought between Bodos and non Bodos.”
Sarania further expressed confidence in winning the election. “Last time we won by a margin of 3,55,000 and this time the margin will be greater than 5,00,000.”
