Guwahati: Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam finance and education minister on Monday inaugurated the science stream at Rangapara College in Sonitpur. Biswa Sarma exuded hope that the addition of the Science stream will enhance learning in the region.
Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also distributed appointment letters to the science stream teachers of the college.
The minister was accompanied by Lok Sabha MP Pallab Lochan Das.

“The Science Department at Rangapara College, which I inaugurated today, will help aspirations of all my young friends who wanted to pursue science. Also, distributed appointment letters to teachers of Science stream in the college. MP @pallablochandas present,” the minister later informed via a tweet.
The Minister also visited Sonitpur and Biswanath districts to lay the foundation stone of several 'Model High Schools' in tea garden areas.
Sarma also addressed a public rally at Borsola. He also laid the foundation stone of a Swahid Park and an Old Age in Dhekiajuli
