Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Wednesday confirmed that he will not contest in the Lok Sabha elections this year. He informed that MP Gaurav Gogoi will contest from Koliabor constituency and added that because of the past records of Himanta Biswa Sarma, he will never be able to become the Chief Minister.
Gogoi stated, “There is a rift between the members of Asom Gana Parishad (AGP). It is one of the biggest lying parties in the Assam. We have 77 per cent confidence that AGP will move into an alliance with BJP only for the sake of money ”
Addressing the media, Gogoi said, “BJP promised that they will bring back black money from the foreign country and they will also provide jobs for the youth, but they failed to fulfil their promises during 5 years. The BJP is trying to gain profit out of public sacrifices and win the elections. They have been trying to hide the unfulfilled promises that they made to people during the election campaign.”
Alleging that Narendra Modi is the biggest liar in the world, Tarun Gogoi said that BJP’s ideology of patriotism comical. He said, “Congress has done lot more compared to the BJP. We just don’t to kill the terrorists; we want to cleanse our country of terrorism."
The former CM also accused the BJP of being hypocrites regarding the border issue. "They are fencing in Assam’s border whereas, they are welcoming Bangladeshi people. "
“We must through the NRC in the Brahmaputra River. This government is not stable. The former CM also demanded CBI inquiry into the APSC scam.
