At a campsite near the headquarters of the headquarters, several messages were posted, with messages against the paramilitary forces of India for their alleged mistreatment of Northeast Indian states, "India Bleeds Manipur", "Stop Genocide in Assam", and "Indian Army Stop Naga Genocide" are some messages that can be seen on the banners. Although it is as of yet unclear who put the banners up, the pictures of these telling signs is being shared widely on social media. In the Northeast Indian States, it is generally believed that the indigenous are being affected by the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.

Meanwhile, the demand for leniency against Northeast Indian leaders has also been echoed within the walls of the UN.

RSS influences Indian Government tortures human rights activists, it was said at the forum. “The state is being managed by fundamentalist and terrorist organization named RSS. Those who are raising voices against the these organizations are being jailed”, the orateur said.

It may be mentioned here that Akhil was arrested by Assam Police on December 12 in the wake of the protests against the impending Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019. A suo moto case was registered against him at Chandmari Police Station on the next day and on the very next day, the case was transferred to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) who booked him under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
