Guwahati, September 25, 2019:

A huge cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives was recovered by the troops of the Indian Army with the help of tracker dog Jaari, on Wednesday.

The recovered arms and ammunitions had been kept hidden by insurgents belonging to the National Democratic Front of Boroland-Songbijit (NDFB-S), at Panbari Reserve Forest in Bodoland Territorial Area Districts (BTAD).

The Indian Army launched a search operation in Panbari Reserve Forest, along with Assam Police and SSB. The Army Canine Jaari led his handler and the search teams to the spot and on digging up the ground, the Army and Police personnel found the hidden cache of arms, ammunition, explosive and war-like stores.

The recovered items were subsequently seized by Chirang Police and taken to Panbari police station.

The success of the will go a long way in ensuring peace in BTAD in view of the Council elections scheduled to be held early next year.
