Japanese Encephalitis snuffed out the life of another victim in Hailakandi district of Assam on Tuesday.
The victim has been identified as a certain Montu Das, a resident of Hailakandi. Montu Das of Tempur village admitted at Silchar Medical College and Hospital died after undergoing treatment for a week.
With this, two persons lost their lives of Japanese Encephalitis in the district.
The health authorities here said that four JE positive cases and 14 Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) cases have been detected in the district.

48,522 fever cases have been screened so far.
District Media Expert Monika Das informed that blood slides samples are being taken daily and 17,355 mosquito nets have been distributed.
Fogging operations are also going on in vulnerable villages. DVB consultants, MTS, SW and MPW functionaries are visiting different parts of the district to keep the virus under check.
Awareness campaigns are also being carried out across the district.
