KOKRAJHAR: Hagrama Mohilary, the former Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), has accused Karbi Council chief Tuliram Ronghang of funneling Rupees 50 crore from the Council into the BJP campaign during last year's BTC election.
Addressing media persons while campaigning for Congress candidate Ratan Engti in Bokajan, Mohilary said: “Tuliram Ronghang gave Rs 50 crore to BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma for meeting expenses during BTC Election. The money has been taken out of allotted for the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council."
Hagrama Mohilary also turned down heavily on BTC chief Promod Boro and claimed that he is selling the BTC region out to New Delhi.
At the same time, Mohilary said that the Bodos residing outside the BTC will all vote for the mahajot candidates as “people residing outside the BTC area don’t recognize Pramod Boro and he has no influence among them."

Mohilary further prophesied that a large chunk of voters will vote for the Congress candidate Engti and that he will win with a handsome margin.
Hagrama Mohilary-led BPF has joined the Congress-led mahajot after being dumped by the BJP after the Council polls.
The Congress-led grand alliance or ‘Mahajath’ comprises the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CPI (M), the Communist Party of India (Marxist Leninist) Liberation or CPI(ML), and the Anchalik Gana Marcha (AGM).
The Bodoland Peoples’ Front (BPF) has also broken away from the BJP-led alliance to join the ‘Mahajath’.
Assembly elections for 126 seats in Assam will be held in three phases starting from March 27 and the counting of votes will take place on May 2.
