Guwahati, November 24, 2018:

After the Arab Spring creating a revolution against dictatorial rule, it’s now time for Assam to utilize social media tools to overcome its issue. Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) will now take up the protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 on the social media platform.

KMSS advisor Akhil Gogoi on Saturday said that the body will take up the protest against the bill on Facebook.

Addressing the media, Gogoi said that since the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) will be holding a meeting on the bill on November 27, the body will start the protest on Facebook from November 26.

He appealed to aach and every Assamese individual to observe November 27 as a ‘Protest Day’ including the artistes, journalists, litterateurs, etc in order to register their protest on November 26.

Gogoi added, “If the All Assam Students’ Union wants the bill to be withdrawn then they should join hands with us to protest and leave behind all the tantrums.”
