MAJOR CATASTROPHE AVERTED IN GOLAGHAT

A major Fire broke down today in Kusum Petrol Pump in Golaghat district of Assam. An oil tanker suddenly caught fire and soon spread to nearby areas.

The oil tanker which caught fire was loaded with 12,000 liters of petrol. Several fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the fire before it could spread to adjacent localities. Fire fighters had a harrowing time controlling the fire from spreading. The timely action of the fire fighters averted a major catastrophe.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the oil tanker was 15 years old and lacked maintenance. A short circuit in the oil tanker is said to be reason of the fire.
