Miscreants loot Ugratara Temple in Guwahati

Guwahati, November 16:

In a shocking incident, unidentified miscreants stole the gold crown and ornaments of the idols including money and the donation box from Ugratara temple on Thursday night.

Speaking to InsideNE, the Commissioner of Police, Pradip Saloi said, “We have come across the incident and we have also registered a case on it at the Latasil Police Station. The investigation is going on and we are sure we will be able to nab the miscreants soon.”

He added, “We guards deployed around the temple but somehow there was a fail which will be sorted out. There were four members in the temple including the priest. So we will monitor the case thoroughly.”

Ugratara Temple is a temple dedicated to the goddess Tara, located in the western side of Jor Pukhury tanks in the Latasil locality. The temple is around 200 meters away from the Latasil Police Station.
