Guwahati (Assam), 2 Aug 2018
Accused of trying to create a rift among communities, more FIRs have been filed against Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Assam.
After an FIR was filed against Banerjee at Naharkatiya police station in Dibrugarh district on Monday evening, two more FIRs were registered against the firebrand TMC leader at two places in Assam on Thursday.
While an FIR was filed by one Munin Sharma at Pan Bazar police station in Guwahati, another FIR was filed against Banerjee at Jagiroad police station by an organisation.
Sharma accused the West Bengal Chief Minister of conspiring to create tension among Assamese, Bengali and Bihari communities in Assam with her outrageous comments.
Meanwhile, following the FIRs, an Assam Police team is likely to leave for Kolkata soon, sources said.
