The Myanmar armed forces, officially known as the Tatmadaw, seem to have waged a war on insurgent forces in the region. After driving out forces of the NSCN (Khaplang) from their headquarters in Sagaing region, they have now put their sights on the other insurgent groups running operations in the country.
Base camps of United Liberation Front of Assam (Independent), Kamtapur Liberation Organization (KLO) as well as National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Songbijit faction) were occupied by the Tatmadaw in Sagaing region of Myanmar.
A large number of arms and ammunition was recovered by the forces. Eleven rebels have been captured, including six NSCN (K) members. Three training camps of extremists were destroyed by the Tatmadaw.
