On Monday, the Assam Police arrested Joint Director of Health Services, Dhemaji red handed from his office while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 12,000 for clearing a bill.
Police officials informed that the joint director Abdul, Latif was caught red handed from his office while accepting a bribe of Rs 12,000 from a person named Mridul Sarma for clearing a bill.
The accused officer demanded a bribe of Rs 18000 which is 10 per cent of the bill of Rs 1.83 lacs from Mridul. Following this, Mridul approached the Anti Corruption Bureau and lodged an FIR.
The arrested person will be produced before the Special Court, Guwahati on Tuesday.
