THREE STUDENTS FALL ILL AFTER CONSUMING IRON TABLETS PROVIDED BY HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Guwahati, October 1, 2018:

Another lackadaisical attitude of Assam Health Department has come to the fore. Three students of Hijuguri Railway High School in Tinsukia district of Assam fell after consuming Iron Tablets on Monday. Ironically, the Ferrous Sulphate and Folic Acid IP tablets were provided by National Health Mission which were distributed to the schools by the State Health Department. The three students, all studying in 9^th standard, were immediately rushed to the Tinsukia Civil Hospital.

This is not the first time that school students has fallen ill after taking medicines provided by the State Health Department. On September 8 last, 25 students complained of nausea, stomach ache and fever after being administered the Measles Rubella vaccine(MR). This incident was reported from Sahabad ME Madrassa under Katlicherra revenue circle.
