Guwahati, June 17, 2019:

Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Monday expressed confidence that the Congress party will be successful in its 'Mission 80' at the 2021 Assam assembly election.

Addressing the media, Tarun Gogoi said, “Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who won the Lok Sabha election is trying to dissolve the other political parties in Assam. The way we ruled out the British government in the country, we’ll keep fighting against the BJP to reveal their motives.”

Gogoi criticized the BJP and alleged that they are trying to form a monopoly in the state.

Speaking about the schemes of the BJP, Gogoi questioned, “How did the BJP come into power without any schemes for the tribals communities?"

He also criticized the BJP government for pushing the education department and teachers associations into deep darkness.

The Congress leader also slammed the BJP government over the discrepancies in the processing of the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
