Great news for teacher aspirants of Assam as the Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET) is likely to be held in the month of September this year, after a gap of seven long years. The exam is tentatively scheduled for September 22 or 29, 2019.

The last TET exam was organized in Assam in 2012 and more than 26,100 teachers were recruited in the primary and upper primary level.

A meeting of the Empowered Committee, Elementary TET was held on March 20, 2019, to discuss the matter relating to carrying out a new TET exam The question papers will be printed in five mediums: Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Bodo, and English.

It may be mentioned that more than 36,500 posts of teachers are lying vacant in the schools of Assam which will hopefully be filled after the conclusion of this year's TET exams.
