ULFA (I) Militant Apprehended in Nagaland's Mokokchungulfa

Mokokchung, March 14, 2020:

A cadre belonging to the non-talks faction of the United Liberation Front of Asom (or ULFA-I) was apprehended near Six Mile in Mokokchung district of Nagaland on March 12. The cadre of the separatist outfit was nabbed after the local authorities launched an op based on specific intelligence.

The troops launched an operation and apprehended a cadre of ULFA (I) who has been identified as Self Styled Sargent Raghu Nath Kall (39) Bangari Gaon. The items recovered from the individual included one Shotgun Rifle, two hand grenades, assorted ammunition and five detonators.

The apprehended individual, along with recovered items, has been handed over to the Tuli police station for further investigation. The arrest of the ULFA militant comes amid ongoing talks between the Government of India and the militant faction, with the participation of the group's Commander, Paresh Baruah, looming in uncertainty.
