Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu on Friday inaugurated the 21st North East Book Fair at Assam Engineering Institute (AEI) field at Chandmari in Guwahati, organized by All Assam Publishers & Bookseller’s Association.
The book fair will continue for 12 days. Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal were also present during the inauguration.

As many as 217 bookstalls, including one from Bangladesh, will be in the fair.
Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu asked the students to look at reading as a fun activity rather than a routine.
The VP also added that the children now- a- days prefer to search online for information. “They prefer watching videos online rather than rely on books.”

He also urged the students to join reading camps and workshops.
