The secretary-general of JD(U), K C Tyagi criticized the decision of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) for clearing proposed controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 to be passed in the Parliament.
Addressing the media, Tyagi stated that the decision of the JD(U) would create a demographic change in the entire region and will destroy the ethnicity of Assam and North East.
He added, “North East region is not dumping ground for illegal immigrants. We strongly oppose the Bill despite of being in Alliance with BJP.”
It may be mentioned that, the announcement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, confirming the amendment of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 has created a huge sensation across the state leaving everyone in disguise.
Protestors across the state have moved to the streets urging each and every people in the state to join them. Earlier this morning, Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) has taken out a protest rally opposing the Bill.
