AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal labels Assam Congress as BJP's A team

AIUDF Chief Badruddin Ajmal has stirred controversy by labelling the Assam Congress as BJP's A team.

Speaking to the reporters, the AIUDF chief said, "I have been campaigning for the last three months so that we could conquer three seats. We have left 11 seats for Congress but the party has walked over to BJP and it's proved that this Congress team is Assam BJP's A team and they will fight unitedly to defeat us. They will challenge us in Nagaon, and Karimganj but for Dhubri I am not worried as I am confident."

Further speaking on the Nagaon constituency, Ajmal said that the Congress leader Rakibul Hussain is the number one contender, followed by Gaurav Gogoi and sitting MP Pradyut Bordoloi.

Ajmal also claimed that former PM Rajiv Gandhi was the number one BJP-RSS leader from the Congress party.

"Before PM Modi, the RSS leaders were Rajiv Gandhi, P. V. Narasimha Rao, Hiteswar Saikia, Tarun Gogoi...all these Congress leaders acted on behalf of BJP and betrayed the people," Ajmal added.

Speaking on his business, Ajmal said that in Assam, the AIUDF leader does not have even one per cent of his business, and has one shop in Guwahati.
